GARMENT CARE
Many of our pieces are dyed using natural materials - plants, flowers, roots and minerals, which means they’re more sensitive than synthetic dyes but also more alive, unique and ever-evolving.
With a little bit of extra care, your item will age beautifully and develop its own character over time.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
Hand wash your item in cold water using a mild, pH neutral detergent (avoid bleach, stain removers, or anything harsh).
If time is of the essence, turn your garment inside out and machine wash on a gentle or delicate 30 degree cycle, ideally in a mesh garment bag. Follow the above instructions for choosing a detergent.
Always wash separately the first few times, as some dyes may release a little colour. If you use pods/powder, we recommend putting the contents in the draw not the drum.
DRYING INSTRUCTIONS
Air dry in the shade to prevent fading from direct sunlight. Avoid tumble drying, which can be too harsh on the materials and dyes.
Do not dry clean naturally dyed garments. It is too risky due to the lack of control over the chemicals that could be used in the process.
We recommend storing your items in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
WHY PH NEUTRAL SOAP?
Many natural dyes are sensitive to pH, and using the wrong detergent might cause the color to fade, shift, or even change completely (and not in the way we like it). The only exception is Indigo as it is not affected by pH in the same way.
The good news is: the older the dye, the more stable it becomes, so overtime your piece will become less sensitive.
